With school ending and the weather heating up, we’ve compiled a few tips to keep your children healthy over the summer.
When your child is active this summer, remember to have them take breaks often to prevent dehydration. Carry a refillable water bottle so that you and your family can have water on the go and be sure to make time for water breaks.
Summer is the perfect time to eat healthy fruits and veggies. During the summer months, produce is at its freshest and most delicious. Veggies like bell peppers and fruits like berries and watermelon are yummy choices the whole family can enjoy.
Routines are important, even during summer. Try to add in daily routines throughout the summer months. For example, choose a day of the week or weekend to visit the pool or play at the park.
A child’s reading ability can decline over the summer months when school is not in session. Keep learning all summer long and encourage your child to read by themselves or read with your child for at least 20 minutes every day.
