March is National Nutrition Month!

Potter the Otter knows that it is never too early to teach your children about the benefits of healthy foods!

  • Make family mealtimes a priority. Plan meals in advance to ensure that you are offering a wide range of healthy foods. Research shows that children who eat with their families have healthier diets.

  • Are you introducing new foods into your child's diet? Think small! Young children may be more inclined to try new foods, like fruits and vegetables, when food is served in small portions. Serve bite-sized cubes of new foods during meals or snack times.

  • Be active! Regular physical activity has many health benefits for young children. Young children need at least 60 minutes or more of physical activity per day. Try taking a walk after dinner or play a game of catch as part of a healthy family routine.

What healthy foods do your family and children enjoy? Let us know!
