Potter's Healthy Resolutions

The first month of the new year is a great time to help your children focus on forming healthy habits.

  • Get out and play! This year, encourage your kids to spend more time outside participating in activities they enjoy. Playing tag and hopscotch are great outdoor activities that get your kids active outside.

  • Incorporate healthy snacks into your child’s diet. One of the best snacks you can offer your child is fruit. Fruit is low in calories, packed with nutrients, and can help kids feel full in between meals.

  • Drink water. Soda and fruit juices can be one of the leading contributors to added sugars in a child’s daily diet. For a healthier option, swap out soda and fruit juice for water.

  • Ensure your children keep to a regular sleep schedule so that they get enough sleep. Try to keep bedtimes and wake times at about the same time every day. School-age children, including toddlers, need around 10 hours of sleep per day.

What healthy resolutions is your family forming with your kids this year?
